The good healthcare system requires perspectives from all the university's disciplines.

OUH and SDU have kicked off an even closer collaboration

It buzzed with energy when over 100 associate professors, professors and leading doctors and nurses from OUH and SDU met on Monday 22 April to discuss four main themes in the healthcare system:

  • How do we reduce inequality in health?
  • How do we organize ourselves in relation to the demographic development?
  • How do we ensure the right clinical prioritization?
  • How do we utilize the technological development in healthcare solutions?

And energy is especially important when dealing with such fundamental questions:

- The healthcare system's challenges are characterized by having many different causes, disagreement about solutions, many actors and conflicts of interest. Those kinds of challenges must be fixed by alliances across silos. It is extremely difficult, so initially go where you identify energy rather than searching for the most effective. And then you have to go all in – otherwise you might as well go home again, said presenter on the day, Sigge Winther. Wild problems, he calls this kind of thing, and has therefore established the think tank "Institut for Vilde Problemer" (https://www.invi.nu/), which he also heads.

Needs Bank on this new shared website

The participants' input from the day will be analyzed and form the basis for a needs bank, which will be available on this new common website. The idea is to establish partnerships between those who have ideas and needs and those who have the interest in working on that idea or need. We expect that this approach will create the best motivation for finding the right solutions.

OUH and SDU will therefore, among other things, use this website to seek out new partnerships with both local, national and international partners.
